January - Any leader/philosopher living in ancient times which is roughly from the start of time to 394 AD (Fall of Rome). (i.e. Cleopatra, Socrates, Plutarch, Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar, Sun Tzu, Attila the Hun)
February - In honor of the Winter Olympics, any winter athlete. (i.e. Scott Hamilton, Kristi Yamaguchi, Noelle Pace - LDS bobsledder)
March - Any leader/philosopher living in medieval times from 394 AD to 1600. (i.e. Charlemagne, Eleanor of Aquitaine, Henry VIII, the wives of Henry VIII)
April - Any leaders/philosopher living in early modern times from 1600 to 1865. (End of US Civil War). (Jean-Jacques Rousseau, John Locke, Catherine the Great, Queen Victoria)
May - Any leader/philosopher (non American) living between 1865 to the present. (i.e. Nelson Mandela, Tsar Nicholas II, Winston Churchill, Margaret Thatcher)
June - Any US founding father or US leader living in the 1700s and a US leader living from the 1800s to the present. (i.e. Thomas Paine, Benjamin Franklin and Abraham Lincoln, Ronald Reagan, Teddy Roosevelt)
September - Frederick Douglass "Life and times of Frederick Douglass," booker T. Washington "Up from Slavery."
October - Any artist living in ancient or medieval times. (i.e. Michelangelo, Phidias)
November - Any artist living in early modern to modern times. (i.e. Dali, Monet, O'Keefe)
December - Any general authority or prophet.
2019
January - Any religious leader living in ancient or medieval times. (i.e. Joan of Arc, Martin Luther, John Wycliffe, Mohammad)
February - Augustine "The Confessions"
March - John Bunyan "Grace Abounding to the Chief of Sinners"
April - Any religious leader (non LDS) living in early modern to modern times. (i.e. Mother Teresa, Pope John Paul)
May - Any general authority or prophet.
June - Any entertainer popular in the 1960s or before and an entertainer popular from the 1970s to present. (i.e. Judy Garland, Grace Kelly and Hellen Mirren, Dustin Hoffman)
September - Any author living in ancient to medieval times and any author living in early modern to modern times. (ie. Shakespeare, Moliere and Charlotte Bronte, Elizabeth Gaskell, Charles Dickens, Mark Twain, Nathaniel Hawthorn, Louise May Alcott, Emerson, Thoreau, C.S. Lewis)
October - Any scientist living in ancient to medieval times. (i.e. Nicholaus Copernicus, Ptolemy, Archimedes)
November - Any scientist living in early modern to modern times. (i.e. Isaac Newton, Marie Curie, Albert Einstein)
December - Any chef/cook. (i.e. Wolfgang Puck, Julia Child)

February - Mary Rowlandson "The Narrative of the Captivity and Restoration"
March - Harriet Jacobs "Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl, Written by Herself"
April - Reader's choice
